Agave Systems was founded by Eric Hegstrom, in 1995
for the purpose of consulting in the field of software engineering. Over the years it
has grown to support the complete development of a variety of scientific and
industrial systems.
Eric Hegstrom
Eric has more than
35 years experience in project management and system and software engineering.
Most recently he has been developing control, automation, and analysis systems used in optical measurement,
telecommunication, laboratory analysis, imaging and glass manufacturing industries.
Eric has extensive experience
developing systems supporting automated industrial workflow, quality assurance, and inspection and testing products. His
previous work experience includes: Apple Computers, 3D0,
Etec Systems, LiteSentry Corporation and being
a principal in an optical start-up sold to PerkinElmer Optoelectronics in 2001.
He designed, developed, and delivered a comprehensive automated QA
system as a key deliverable of a $100 million technology sale to Matsushita
Electric Industrial (Panasonic). Eric received his BS in Mathematics and Computer
Science from the University of Arizona.
Eric was as a co-founder and principal of the Optical Device Engineering Corporation
before which he led the development of software for automated optical
component testing and production at Chorum Technologies.
Eric recent work has been the development of a patented scatter measurements device called the
ScatterScope which is in use at 10+ high profile industrial and defense companies. All optics, electronics, and software
was developed in-house.
